Day 20 – Sennely – St. Cheron / 165 km

Derk decides to go on with a carbon rear wheel.

Derk decides to go on with a carbon rear wheel.

The pasta-stop is in Champmotteux, a deserted little village not far from Paris, situated between weed fields which stretch to the horizon. When Derk arrives he has 126 kilometres covered, with an average of 29,3 km/h and a maximum speed of ‘only’ 50 km/h.

Like yesterday Rianne and Caroleen drive the car. They make sure they’re standing ready on crossroads to show Derk the right direction. Unfortunately they get lost quite often. Fortunately Derk usually comes along swiftly to show them the way.

The sun is burning again and the temperature increases above 30 degrees. Derk moves on north and after a total of 165 kilometres he stops on the camping near St. Cheron, not so far from Paris.

Tomorrow is the day: with the camper, the ambulance an Derk on his Thys 222 Rowingbike, we dare to enter the chaos of Paris.
